Policy Statement
Moncrief Construction Limited (MCL) is committed to meeting the needs of all people so they are able to maintain their independence and dignity. MCL strives to provide a barrier-free environment for all individuals who may enter our premises, whether they are members of the public, customers, clients, employees, suppliers or any other visitor to our office, job site or website.
If at any time MCL is unable to provide a barrier-free environment, MCL will appropriately accommodate any individual so that services may be provided.
MCL’s Multi-Year Accessibility Plan outlines strategies to remove any barriers for people with disabilities to meet the requirements under the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation (IASR) and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA).
MCL’s Accessibility Plan applies to all employees, students, contractors and any 3rd party who may be involved in MCL’s operations.

1. Information and Communication
MCL will communicate with individuals in a way that meets their needs. Staff will consult with individuals with disabilities to determine the best way to meet their needs.
1.a) Accessible Emergency Information
Upon request, MCL will provide individuals with publicly available emergency information in an accessible way. As per the AODA requirements, MCL will:
Provide publicly available emergency procedures and/or plans or public safety information in an accessible format
Provide individualized workplace emergency response information to employees with disabilities when necessary
1.b) Websites and Web Content
MCL will maintain compliance with the World Wide Web Consortium Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, Level AA. MCL will use online accessibility validator tools to identify any accessibility problems with new or existing content and will correct any problems identified in a timely manner.
1.c) Feedback from Customers and Employees
MCL encourages individuals to provide feedback regarding accessibility and will ensure our processes are made accessible to people with disabilities. Feedback can be submitted by:

1.d) Accessible Formats and Communication Supports
MCL is committed to providing its policies and information in an accessible format upon request. MCL will post on our website that we can provide this information in accessible formats upon request, and ensure the information is provided in a timely manner at no extra cost to the individual making the request. MCL will consult with the individual in order to determine the most appropriate format or support.
2. Employment
MCL is committed to fair and accessible employment practices.
2.a) Recruitment and Selection
To ensure MCL is meeting employment standards we will:
Notify employees and the public of availability of accommodation(s) for applicants in the recruitment process
Notify applicants who have been invited to participate in an interview or other stage in the selection process that accommodation(s) are available
Notify all new hires of policies for accommodating employees with disabilities
Post on our website that accommodation(s) can be made available to those that request them
Inform existing employees of all policies used to support employees with disabilities on an annual basis and when a change in policy occurs
Train hiring managers to ensure that accommodations are offered and made available throughout the interview process
2.b) Workplace Emergency Response Information
When individualized information is necessary to accommodate a disability, and MCL is aware of the need for accommodation, we will provide individualized workplace emergency response information to employees.
Should there be an employee who requires an individualized workplace emergency response information requires assistance, MCL will designate an individual to provide assistance and, with the employee’s consent, MCL will provide the workplace emergency response information to that individual.
MCL will review individualized workplace emergency response information at minimum whenever:
The employee moves to a different location within the company
The employee’s overall accommodation needs or plans are reviewed
MCL reviews its general emergency response policies
2.c) Accommodation Plans and Return to Work
MCL will maintain the process for developing individualized accommodation plans and return to work plans for employees that have been absent due to a disability. MCL will:
Work to identify those employees that require an individualized accommodation plan and involve them in the development of said plan which outlines the accommodations we will provide
Provide plans in accessible formats
Keep all individualized accommodation plan information confidential
MCL’s Accommodation and Return to Work Policies document the steps that are taken to develop an individual accommodation plan and facilitate the return to work of employees who are away from work due to a disability.
Accessibility Report
MCL will file the next accessibility report as per the required timeline.
