The Surveyor is responsible for providing data relevant to shape, contour, gravitation, location, elevation or dimension of land or land features for engineering, construction or other purposes.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain survey documentation for field layout over the various stages of a project.
Plan and coordinate survey requirements to project personnel.
Complete accurate field staking, marking and other layout applications for construction purposes
Perform accurate topographic surveys for as-built, design and volumetric calculations
Handling multiple projects at one time
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
Some work is performed in an office environment.
Most work is performed outside in all weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.
Willingness and ability to travel out of town to perform work as necessary.
Must provide own steel toe boots.
Skills and Knowledge:
Knowledge of GPS systems, total stations and rotating laser levels. Experience with Trimble RTK Systems and Trimble Robotic Total Stations would be an asset.
Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D/AutoCAD software, Trimble Access survey software, Topcon 3D Office and Topcon 3D-MC2
Excellent communication skills are required.
Ability to work independently
Time management skills
Knowledge of workplace safety rules, instructions and policies.
